These stains aren't difficult to remove but the methods by which you remove them from a glass cooktop must take into account the needs of the surface. Scrub the surface of the glass cooktop with the baking soda to remove a light stain. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth to remove the baking soda.

Step 4

Apply a dime-sized amount of ceramic and glass cooktop cleaning cream to a damp cloth to tackle any remaining aluminum pan stains. Rub the cream into the stain before allowing it to sit for two to three minutes.

Step 5

Remove the remaining stain by gently running a razor-edged scraper over the surface at the site of the stain. Follow by wiping the cooktop off with a damp cloth.

Step 6

Dry your black glass cooktop with another cloth and buff it to a natural shine.

Tip

Avoid the use of abrasive cleansers when removing an aluminum pan stain on your glass cooktop.

Place aluminum cookware carefully on the glass cooktop, avoid dragging them across the surface as this is likely to leave unsightly scuff marks.
